Does anybody out there in 300 land know of a reputable U.K supplier of new Volvo parts? I had a chap look at the car today regarding the rust issues and while he can do it he says I need a new rear leaf hanger to replace the knackered one!!

I have a nasty feeling that such items will only be available from Volvo themselves. Some bodypanels like wheelarches etc are available aftermarket, but I doubt something as specific as a rear spring hanger for a 300 series has enough demand to warrant a pattern part being made.

Is the existing hanger not reparable, or is it that it would be easier to fit a new one?

Bit of both i think, the one or ones there are quite knackered so it would take less time and work to just put new ones on. I have had an answer from Braydon Motors who i've used before but im not sure how many i need, they say there are 2 on each side of the leaf spring on each end so that makes 8 in total but as its only the back that has gone does that mean i need 4?? I think i'll send them a photo to clarify!!

I need the bits in green and maybe the red bits too?!

According to VADIS the red bits are 'shackles', 2 per spring, part no 3100884. The green bits are 'spring braces', 1 per side, part no 3267522.

The brace to shackle bush is part no 3100556 and the brace to spring bush is part no 3100100

Ermm, yes.........well.........modesty forbids of course...........but so I have heard..........


There only two shackles per spring as the front of the spring is mounted differently.
