B172k - Engine required

As above, I'm after a B172. Realistically I'm after a good one, so anyone thinking of doing a valver conversion is probably a good starting point.

I would preferably like it untouched, i.e. sump still on. I can provide another sump if you are doing a conversion.

I'd also like to see/hear the engine running, I'm fully aware of what most 1.7's are like. This will likely make this local-ish only. I can help with removal of the 1.7 afterwards to be able to run away with it. If this constraint stops things from happening, I might look at casting a less picky net in a few weeks.

Many thanks all

EDIT: Ancillaries. I'd be interested (neh, requiring) things like manifolds, downpipe, carbs, choke cable. I can't remember if I still have a 1.7 renix about either :s. Imagine someone got bored with a valver and wanted to go back to a 1.7 and you'd be along the right lines for what I need.

No, I havn't got bored with a valver....

Can't be many 1.7's left now, they've all been valvered  and the engines weighed in :?

I'll let you know if I hear of one.

No buts ;) Just an ongoing project I have that would be more suited to a B172 than the F7R. I'm almost tempted to not, but if a nice one comes up it seems silly to not make use of it.

Is it not worth waiting for a 340 with poor bodywork but good mechanics to break?

Possibly, though with the prices of 300's recently I'm not convinced!

Worst case I'll just use the F7R I have ;)

Right, i've got a 1700 under the bench. its got the sump and mounts with it etc, however i want to keep the sump, mounts and bellhousing as i want to go 1700turbo at some point too :) If i recal correctly its out of a 100k car. The fuel pump has been snapped off though so you'll need one of those. Its got the flywheel with a clutch. Its got a brand new downpipe. i have a spare carb for it too. Its got a new-ish set of plug leads on it. Cant say much else really, i took it out of the car and slung it under the bench as i was going to convert mine but decided theres no point doing all the work for 10hp. Any use to you?

Thanks, Thomas.................
