Passenger side rear squeak

Hi all, I have got an annoying squeak/ sound when driving. It appears to becoming from the rear passenger side wheel (area). The squeak gets quicker and slower when the car speeds up and slows down. Could this be a wheel bearing or something a bit more serious. The shocks are new as well. Only two thousand km and these don't squeak when I bounce them. Could it be a brake shoe issue?
I'm just interested what people think could be the problem could be before I start fiddling with rear wheel bearings, as I've heard they are a pain to do...

Snap. Same problemmo that started when I put on new shocks. Just cos they're new doesn't mean they won't squeak. The thing is you can't reproduce the sound by bouncing the car when its stationary so its hard to work out where the noise comes from.... and mine seems to be getting better with time. I'd be very interested if anyone thinks it could be the spring bushes.... but, the more I think about it, the more its got to be the shocks.
Bests, bogbasic.

I have put in new spring bushes......thinking that I might a) spray lanox in there, b) buy more shocks or c) spend thousands trying to fix.
I don't think it's the diff.....
Oh well.....taking of brake shoes to have a look soon

Does the noise coincide with bumps in the road or is it purely dependent on speed?

When my rear wheel bearings failed it did start with a squeaky/grinding sound. It did sound like the brake shoes or something were rubbing or something like that. I could not find any play and then over a week or so the noise got much worse and then there was massive play in teh back wheel - you could see teh wheel wobble when driving!

I had a squeak, it was not regular, reason was that jacking point was rubbing against leaf spring, iron bar and bit of stretching fixed that.
But if you have it like every rotation of wheel or so, then check out for small stones, I think Fuse had once stone stuck somewhere around CV joint and that made bad noise, can be bit tricky to find first.
Putting rear axle on axle stands and 'driving' car on air might also reveal something as you can listen near wheel and suspension is still loaded like on road, just watch out that you don't wear a scarf as it can get you mangled around the wheel and it does not feel very nice.
