Anything to suggest this is NOT a 360 GLT?
http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0953732029
Except of course the missing rear spoiler, missing rear decals, and "Columbia" alloys. Other than that, everything's there as far as I can tell.
Cheers
Tom

No, not me! But I have pointed it out to a few people this side of the water, who are GLT-interested ...

I don't think it is.
Too many tells on that car to show it's had an upgrading owner in it's life, but not all of it matches I think.
It's got the boot lock catch cover plastic, which is normally missing on a car that looks like it's seen the life that one has, but, on the other hand, has the tray by the handbrake, which I think was pre 86. It's got recirc, which in the UK we only see on 86MY cars, plus a snowcap, which was pretty unlikely to be standard fit.
I don't know, something just doesn't look right about it.
Aux belts are 925mm long however, that should tell you what engine it is, it's not a 1.7 at least as thats a poly V

I suspect that its seen upgrades and that would explain the steel wheels in the boot.

I'm gonna call GL on this one. The boot and tray by handbrake and wheels are my tell. its a pretty good attempt at a GLT though.

I don't agree, I'm positive it's a GLT, maybe on winter wheels and with a replacement rear hatch. The only other hatch 360s available in Germany at the time looked different: GL Injections like my old car had some black trim, but gutter trim and windscreen and hatch surrounds were chrome. 360 carb cars were lower spec still, only available as 3drs and with all sorts of other details missing, like the centre console between the front seats. That tray by the handbrake is standard V300 stuff for cars without heated seats / e-mirrors or windows, my 1988 GLi had that too.
A rear hatch and wheels are easy to change, the other way around it would have meant adding front spoiler, bumpers, seats, door trim, black gutter trim, black window surround trim, horn push. The car was first registered in 07/1987 which makes it MY 1987, recirc was dropped for the 88MY AFAIK but in any case, that's not GLT specific.
Unless anyone can tell if the leaf springs are non-GLT, with non-GLT oil shocks?
Agreed, the previous (one!) owner fitted some retro-fit extras - see snowcap and also the rear arch protectors, but that makes sense down in Munich which sees a lot of snow.
If the mileage is correct, 88000kms is very low for a Euro 360 GLT. Pity about the rusty bits, I'm sure there'll be some nasty rot on the inner wings too.

Could also be the poverty-spec Euro V300 GLT style, with wind up windows and no headlamp wipers
Cheers

It has alot of GLT features, but why would you ever downgrade a glt? looks nice though.
Tom, GLTs have oil shocks

Certain it's a GLT too, haven't read all of Tom's detailed post but just looks like its had wheel swaps (common place surely in Germany with winter tyres etc) and hatch replacement, plus a non GLT that's 1987 would have chrome windscreen trims etc

Very embarrassing, all this stuff - not the kind of thing you want to talk to your GF/wife about

But important info for anyone looking for an original GLT... Another German-spec-GLT only feature (compared to "lesser" hatches): front foglights and interior light delay relay.
I can see the reason for swapping the rear hatch too, mine is getting rusty around the middle spoiler stay - if only I had a rear hatch in the right colour...
@Evoman, marketing blurb says GLTs got gas shocks, although maybe only at the back, and maybe not all model years.
Cheers

Did the Euro Mk3 GLT's seriously come with no rear wiper?
Even Uk Dl's got that, it was only the 340 (no badges) that came without.

No German spec V300 ever came with a rear wiper as standard. No headlamp wipers either, except maybe on some special editions ...
