Hi all you tech peeps.
I have been asked by a mate if it is possible to put a 1.4 engine into a saloon.
Now i know there were 1.4 saloons at one time but is it difficult to do?
Cheers Mark.

Depends on what saloon it is, how easy it is. If it's a rotten sausage 1.7, don't see why it shouldn't plop straight in.
What's the back story?

Hi mate.
Its a 1.7 saloon with a broken timeing belt.
Its only for track use and won't be going onto
the road.
Cheers Mark.

That's what I thought, hence the "rotten sausage" comment above.

(sausage = banger)
Obviously if it was a 360, then it would need a few extra bits to downgrade.

Yeah it doesn't matter that its a saloon, wheel base, drive etc is all the same. Even the rear chassis legs are the same, thats why the bumper mounts have to be longer because the saloon is longer after the suspension.
