1985 340DL Windscreen

Hey All,
Just got my 340 back from the garage at the weekend - now with full MOT and reconditioned Head/Carb - and was well pleased with myself, until some inconsiderate bar-steward came thrashing past me in his 4x4 Monday evening, showering the front of my car in stones and debris and subsequently cracking the windscreen! Have spoken with Autoglass already, and they are not able to repair it - neither do they stock a screen to replace it with!
So, does anyone know of a great condition used screen that is available or, better still, of any new-old stock that I could perhaps procure?
All help/advise gratefully received.
Thanks again

Will your insurance not cover it?
Find a local automotive glass stockist and ask for a lead-in time. Autoglass are 'king expensive.
Find a breakers that doesn't stack their cars and keeps old stuff. I've had windscreens for an Ayrton before.
(Worst that can happen is you have to wait a couple of months while they make it)

My brother works for autoglass in New Zealand and I'm pretty sure that one car they didn't have the screen for they actually made one for it.
I'll send him an email and see what he can do for you.
Also I'm sure I have seen a link somewhere on V3M to a website that makes the windscreens.

There is, I posted one a while back. I'd have to dig it out though as a forum search isn't finding anything

Pilkingtons make windscreens for all sort of cars regardless of age, but then it can take a while (couple of months).

Folks,
Appreciate the info so far. Insurance Company will not cover replacement of the screen (just talked themselves out of repeat business for the 340), so I'm left trying to source a new/used screen. I'm gonna post on a few different sites as well, just to spread the net that bit wider - ironically, living in Europe's Oil Capital actually works against me in this case, as most local scrappies have nothing for cars older than 12-15 years old (too much money in the area)!
If anyone sees or hears of anything I would be interested to know.
Thanks again

Yup, Mac is quite right - the Granite City of Aberdeen (well, 20 miles NW to be exact)...
