matchbox/model 300 series
Did Matchbox or anyone else ever make a model Volvo 340 or 360?

BTW, neat minor features on the 360:
interior light stays on a while after you close the door
radio does not cut out when starting the engine (does this feature remain if another radio is fitted? is it the radio itself or the circuitry?)
doors unlock automatically when opened from inside (I rarely drive with locked doors, but noticed this after I climbed in through the passenger door in a tight car park)

That is all supposed to be like that. The doors unlocking automaticly is a safety feature. I don't know about the radio.
The finnish company of Stahlberg made models of the 300 series. They are scale 1:20 i guess. I got a 360 glt model.
Here's an example:

- 360 GLT, 1989, Gray Metallic, 115.500 km, PAS, Electric Sunroof, Windows and Mirrors

It's a 360GLEi, not a GLT (there was a model of a GLT but in hatchback form only).
It wouldn't have coloured bumpers as the models are all Mk2's.

I have one. I painted it in GL's colors.
It was a GLT but as I had destroyed parts of it (spoiler, windows..) when I was a kid I took the door mouldings out and made it a GL version.

My parents were speaking to a model car specialist the other week. My Dad bought one of the new Revell 2 door Amazons. Very well detailed, 1:18 scale. Anyway, they asked about 300 models, and as far as the chap knew the only ones were the plastic models the dealers had made by Stahlberg, and one other very limited edition run of a 300 in a metal model, but they are practically impossible to find apparently! I also remember that ChrisC has a 300 model made by Hot Wheels. Personally I don't think it was a very true likeness, i.e. standard Hot Wheels style wheels etc. But still very rare I'm sure and something different.

As Steve said in that thread, possibly in the future if enough interest is shown, a decent model will be produced.
