343GL 1980

Post by Kloge »

Hello from Sweden!

My name is Dan and this is the barn find of a 343GL
Only 69044 km and has not been started since 2002. I have orded new ignitionparts so I hope I can start the engine soon.

The fuel gauge don't work, the clock sometimes but sounds like it's going to crash.
Rust in the front fenders so I will look for new better ones.

And finally the registrationplates... GAY 325 the only gay in the villiage https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjekrHwgFsA
maybe I will call the car Daffyd

 maybe Daffyd isn't the only gay in the village then!

Looks like it will be an easy restoration project if there aren't any hidden gremlins.

Good luck and keep us updated :)

Hello everyone!

Today the engine started! But the coolongwater is blown out of the radiator så I think it must be the head gasket that is kaputt.
Is it hard to fix?

Hello, is the thermostat OK and is the pump being driven by the belt? Its human nature to assume the worst when its actually something minor. Head gasket change should be fun if you can get the head skimmed.
