Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and found out about the guide about converting your 340 to a 1.8 16v,
My question is I have a 343 from 1982 with a 1.4 engine of the 3E type, what parts do I need from a 1.7 volvo.
I've managed to find a 340 1.7 redline which i can buy as a whole very cheap, but I don't exactly know what parts I need.
do i need the entire subframe for instance? i know i need the gearbox because i want a 5-speed and i need the bell housing, sump and engine mounts.

I know about the guide but the links in there are not functional, i messaged jon-ovlov about the links but haven't had a response yet.
Does anybody know what parts are needed for the older 343, i know about the bellhousing engine mounts, and gearbox as i need a 5-speed.
As for the redline it's a wrecking car, so it would have been destroyed otherwise. I'll only take the parts I need and then i'll try to sell the bodywork to somebody that wants to make it beautiful again.

I think you need the front engine mount the tube u shaped bar.
And all the bits you have listed.
Don't know about ecu or things
