Sometimes it's hard being a PIMP!

The damn thing had been useless for years (as I think I pointed out to Pete and Andy at the Nessy meet...), and I had a broken LED-torch keyring....soo... ;)

If you 340 drivers are wondering what a torch key is...well...never mind :-P

So that one can see where the lock is in the Fuel Filler Cap at night time which in turn aids you in not running out of petrol.

Ohh, well done getting that in there Chesh.

And James not sure what you mean about 340's. Our 340 has one of those, although it's our spare and only rarely gets used. Light dosn't work though.

It does? Oh bum, I thought it was a 360 only thing. You'll need to get the right batteries, and it needs to be a high intensity (preferably white) LED to be of any use.

Your's looks blue ;)

Did you have to mod the key, or would the batt and LED just slot in?

It's a tiny bit blue (mostly just the camera), but the blue ones are REALLY blue. I've had a blue one on my keyring for a while, but it's fairly useless, because the light is such a narrow bandwidth.

I'm not giving away 'the secrets of the key'...but it wasn't hard. It involved a touch of soldering, and getting lucky on the right sized batteries. If people really want, I can take pics of the process.

It's just that I'm the type of person who doesn't like doing anything irreversable :P

Mmm I think the LED should be a little bit more inside... as the genuine bulb! But it's a very nice idea, I was also thinking about that and I'll do it :)

MJ...if you get spare 'guts' for one of these, it's a drop-in. You don't alter the key itself at all.

Aymat...your wish is my command...

Ok, since I'm still up....here are the innerds...

There are two batteries stacked on top of one another, the lower one being restrained with a blob of blu-tac underneath to prevent a short. The 'sliding' goes on between the two batteries.

I'd done this with Beast's key Fog's ;) Problem is the torch key never gets sold on, people seem to keep them as 'momento's' of there car. I've been trying to find someone that will cut the bit of metal that they cool a key on the end of it, so I can use Beast key on Kar, might just get a spare cut and dremel it to shape.
