Engineswap 340 GL B172K -> B200E Updated 6.4.06 NEW PICS!

Ok,new and fresh winds are blowing to my project. I have bought back my former 340 GL B172K -87
Here`s the deal:
-Volvo 340 GL B172K -87
-Volvo 360 GLT B200E -87
=Volvo 340 GL(T) B200E -87

I´m doing engineswap between those and also all technic will change included rearaxle, transmission, kardanaxle, engine, exhaustpipe, electricity, fuelpiping.

This is my first engineswap so most of this is new to me. I`t`s all about learning

340 GL is where goes B200E and all GLT technic











360 GLT is where im taking all technic

You've seen the light and returned, once you've tried a 300, you'll never match it! The amp....... ChrisC has found a genuine Volvo 300 amp, some pics are posted somewhere, might be worth seeing if it's the same as his, or have a look in the 1989 accessories catalogue in the french part of the site. Wiring is pretty simple (mine had been butchered a tad, but doesn't matter), found the amp itself in a C reg (1986) 360 GLE, still havn't got round to testing it yet though So much to do...

Thank you!! My amp doesnt look like ChrisC. I`ll have to take pics..soon Yesterday I was looking more my GLT and i found rust in drivers door,spare tire mount?!? and trunk door.
Now my GLT can rest a while and project will start in March `06 and car will hit the road in July `06...

I have allready planned what im going to do with it:
-exterior modding
-interior modding
-15-16" wheels
-ICE---> subwoofer+amplifier
-etc.

But you`ll see it then..

This weekend i´m going to remove interior so its easier to do bodywork and welding..

Paperworks are going well!! I have to order some paper from Volvo where are listed parts which are needed to change. Actually I know it allready but..Finnish Laws ::)

It will be more complicated if I dont order that paper because then I have to insert katalysator, lambda plus more paperwork

project is going forward smoothly

Now both cars engines,rearends/transmissions etc have been removed.
Next thing to do is put B200E to 340.

Parts and things what ive bought:
-14" BMW steel wheels and tires
-Simons 2" muffler
-all parts to brakesystem included discs,pipes,hoses,pads,cylinders
-Pipercross freeflow-aircleaner
-sparkplugs,oilcleaner,fuelcleaner,etc

Things to come:
-2x 10" subwoofers + amplifier
-also many other things

Hahaa..now ive got rearend/transmission, fueltank and propshaft into my car. Ive also done some electricwork with fuelpump.
I fighted hours with propshaft until i got it in place

Damn i was tired for working 2 days and about 15-16 hours per day Maybe it is a good thing to have a little break from this project, week or two

There are some bad things also..I broke sidemarkerswitch (that thing where are windshieldwiper and sidemarkers,behind steeringwheel) but luckily i have sparepartscar

Next jobs are tightening propshaft and changing rearaxle
