I may be purchasing a 340 DL '88 manual (1.4) for £50, whats the economy like with these 4-gear models?

I assume it can't be worse than my Vario doing 4400 at 70mph!?

I get 35 mpg + on relatively short runs from my `88 340 manual with a B14.4E 1397cc motor

Cant remember exact figures, but my 4 spd 1.4 was pretty good on fuel, there will be no real diffarence between the 4 spd and the 5 unless you do much motorway type driving

I do about 120 miles a day on the A6 and the A14 at about 70 and I get about 300 miles out of a tank. If I drive at 60 its more like 350
