Located a 5 speed g/box in a dismantlers?? yard still on car. Asked for it to be removed after agreeing price and leaving a deposit. Went to pick it up, the input shaft is broken flush with housing. Suspect the person removig it broke it.
1. Can it be repaired using input shaft off a 4 speed.
2. If not do any other volvo G/Boxes have same part

Have left it at the dismantlers till monday 23

YOU WILL NEED ANOTHER GEARBOX THE INPUT SHAFT ON THE 4 SPEED IS DIFFERENT

what a fool.... how can you possibly break such a strong axle without BRUTE force....

(guess he peeled the gearbox from under the car with a fork lift or something... )

Chopped it with a gas-axe I bet...what a chump. Good luck with your search
