Hello ! Greetings from frosty Poland (-23 degrees C today :p )

I have a question to you guys. Is it possible to fit a 1.7 Turbo engine from Volvo 440/460/480 to my '86 V 360 GLE with B200E engine ?? Has anyone tried to do that or knows sth about it ?

Thanks in advance :)

1.7 turbo is an easier fit in a 340 (1.7 or 1.4)

you need to modify the engine supports if you want to put that engine in a 360...

Its really not worth to put 1.7 turbo to 360!!
You have change everything in your car included clutch, kardanaxle, transmission, back end, fuellines, engines electricity..because those parts arent matching between volvo and renault-engines.

Enginesupports are different..Put instead Volvo-turboengine (B21ET,B230ET,B230FT...) because it is A LOT easier to do!

Im doing engine conversion to my 340 and i have to change also those all things i listed plus rearaxle.Im having B172K (1.7 renault-engine) removed from my 340 and i put B200E in it (engine from 360 GLT)

I see... How does it look like with the 2.3 Turbo ? And what kind of suspension and brakes matches it the best ??

I can buy a B230ET engine for about 100Ł. The mileage is 240 000, but the turbo needs regeneration. Is it a bargain ?

That's not much, but i think that regeneration of turbo will cost about 150 pounds...

What about adjusting the suspension and brakes to that engine ? Do brakes from 740/760 fit 360 ?

740/760 brakes wont fit straight there. You can put those to your 360 but you have to make some modding..If you want better brakes,Opel Rekord discs and Volvo 240 Girling calibers will fit straight there.

And what comes to B230FT-engine..It will fit 100% to your 360 beacuse ALL Volvo-engines have same enginesupports and clutchsupports.

Suspension will handle B230FT engine, but if you want extra stiffness, classicswede will help with that :)

For the end..Volvo-engine is a lot easier to put Volvo-engined car (360) than Renault-engine to Volvo-engined car or Volvo-engine to Renault-engined car (340)..Im having B200E to my 340 (B172K) :P

Thanks for help. I've still got a lot to think about, because it's quite hard to find 230ET engine in good shape in Poland. But if my idea works out this will probably be the first 360 in Poland with that kind of mod. I want to make a drift car out of it, but I don't know if my budget will handle this :D:D I'm just a student :)
