Just a quick message for anyone who runs power steering.

I've read in practicle performance car this month that Will Holman installed an electric power steering pump from an audi, would this be beneficial to me if i had the parts lying around?

I'm after freeing up some more BHP and a little more fuel economy, as I've already stripped the air box off exhaust old oil etc and replace all with performance parts

Any help appreciated!!!!

Well the pump's still gotta draw power from somewhere though. OK, you'll loose the mechanical pump but the alternator would be working harder.

Maybe :)

Best bet - ditch the PAS and be a real man :)

NEVER!!!! I dont need that type of work out!!!! Haha, I'll replace the alternator with one from a 760, as I'm also looking at a dual battery system etc for audio and (dare I say neons 8) ) But I think the electric PAS pump may be better for the engine.

I Think with the electric pump it would only be running when needed to rebuild pressure.
