Hi all, just found this place after being given a 1984 360 gle saloon, its done 101,000 miles but only 6,000 in the last 10 years, full volvo service history and a bag of spares. I got it really to use as a work hack, but having driven it about a bit, I'm really enjoying it! at first it wouldn't rev at all and struggled to 40 mph, but after a few flat out blasts it now drives really well, and you can get the back out with ease!!
However, recently it has developed a slight misfire at under 2500 revs, above this it is fine, does anybody have any clues to point me in the right direction??
Cheers

Try replacing the leads before checking out the Carb. Especially since it hasn't had much use until recently.

Welcome

Sounds like a nice car you have there!
As Figad said, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs etc... service items really, and see how you get on from there maybe.

Cap and rotor arm fixed that exact problem on my car.
Welcome!

Oohh... GLEi... nice! Any extra toys with it? I think the GLE's injection form are pretty damn rare!

I have always believed that GLE and GLT were injection models, doh! How stupid I can be
Others have already answered to problem same thing as I would so no need to repat it anymore

Early GLEs were all saloons, and almost all injection. Only in ~85 did that change.

Its silver, minor rust on the bottom edge of the nsr arch and a slight bump osr door, and as for toys?? I dont know what it would have as standard but here goes....
Front fog lights
Tow bar with twin electrics
Electric front windows
Central locking
Stereo (not working)
Power Steering
Imobiliser
13" Alloy wheels
Headlight wash/wipe
Mud flaps all round
Adjustable door mirrors
I'm asuming they all had 5 speed trans and a clock!
Can someone tell me if I have a B19 or B20 engine??

I'll bet that's some sort of special edition or something cos alloys weren't standard on GLEs neither was power steering.
Immobiliser is probably an aftermarket fit and possibly part of an alarm?

Yeah... PAS and Fogs on a GLE too... and on an 1984... sounds a bit special, pics!

I thought all injection cars (in the UK) got fogs, whether GLE or GLT?
PAS does sound like a rarity at that age.

I'll get the camera out at the weekend!!
Imobilser was dealer fitted (i've got the paper work!) it's only a security key and a neon that earths the lt lead of the coil!
The alloys are flat faced, to be honest they look like wheel trims, you'd think they'd make alloys look like alloys!!!
So does this mean I've gotta look after it! LOL
