White Bonnet for Mk3 340

One of our 340s has failed its MOT on two stupid things. Small split on front windscreen and also the bonnet leading edge is rusted and has left a sharp edge.
So if anybody has or knows where a bonnet preferably in white is I'd be grateful.
Cheers.

You could go for the chav black 'carbon style' bonnet

What's wrong with gaffer tape? Used it to great effect on my VW T25 camper
It should get you through the MOT, then you can get the bonnet sorted at your leisure.

Yes gaffer tape is good for corroded windscreen corners on VW T2's as well

Indeed, tape should be enough to cure the sharp edges and should be acceptable to the MOT tester. It's not a structural area, so doesn't require welding etc.

I'm in the process of trying the 'stick a whole load of filler in and hope' method. I'm using some mesh to try and build out the shape etc. I'll keep you posted. A good other white bonnet though, would be by far the best option.

Yeah the ebay one is for a Mk1 I believe. Oooh... 360 bonnet should be good Andy - they don't tend to rust out on the leading edge so easily!

Looks like we have a plan
I'm working on a plan with Keith to buy that mk1 bonnet as soon as I have some spare space (read: when all the gearboxes and cylinder heads have gone from my place!). Couldn't possibly say why...
cheers

Just got back with the bonnet, only a 370 mile round trip

Anyway, it needs a bit of tidying up. I'll keep you posted when I get it cleaned up and fitted.
