Not my 340 I hasten to add :D

Took my racing bike for a spin this morning and took a tumble. I now have a broken collar bone, a smashed cycle helmet (hmm, that may have saved my life   ), two bent wheels and a few minor cuts and bruises. It takes a long time to type with only a left hand that I may take a short holiday from you guys and girl, :( but I'll be veiwing the forum daily

Perhaps it would have been better to take it for a ride rather than a spin.

Du-dum-tish, yep, I'm crap at jokes, I know. But, seriously, I hope you recover soon...we can't have that beautiful 340 stood around for too long, and of course the experience can't be too pleasant for you!

'ave a look at http://www.5lab.co.uk/pics/ouch/ for what happened when my roadbike met a polo :)

Wow  Love the forks  How was the polo? I seem to recall a thread on www.cyclingplus.co.uk that questioned why green bikes were unlucky!

Unlike myself the bike escaped any major injury so I was able to ride home, how Tyler Hamilton cycled the Tour de France in 2003 with the same injury is beyond me. If only it had been the bike, that I could easily replace, I on the other hand have to sit out the healing period with books and the olympics (and volvomania of course), I am practicing patience, patience, patience 8)

Nice to see another bikie on the site though. Do you carry the bike in or outside the Volvo?

polo was a write off. £2000 of damage. oops :)

normally carry bikes inside but occasionally have them hooked on the back or the roof.

I'm a bikie as well! :D

I ride a Specialized StumpJumper frame on Marzocchi front forks and on PanaRacer Kevlars. Nice little bike. I got a Fox excluder as well for the suspension..it's quite handy!

I'll upload a few pics when I can be arsed. :)

Ha! The volvomania bike forum has started :D

I currently have 2 bikes road worthy, both are Dawes, a Giro 500 with Kysrium elites and a restored '70's Galaxy which I've converted to 700c wheels and Shimano 9 speed. I'll send a picture to Duvel maybe he can post it for me. I am lucky enough to live in one of the most senic parts of the world on "the ring of kerry" and cycling is an obsession, I can't ride on the road at present so I have the bike up on a turbo trainer and letting the sore arm dangle

I have a Galaxy also..I got it on Ebay for £40...hence it's bad condition. Shame, could've got a roadworthy 340 for that.
