Does someone know what kind of oil temperature sender i need for the B200 engine, and where it should be fitted?

It replaces the sump plug. IIRC the size is something like M18x1.5, but I'm not 100% sure.
I've given up trying get hold of something suitable so I think I'm gonna get a new threaded hole put into the sump to screw the one I have into. That way I can also tuck it out of the way so it's not as exposed as a sump plug replacement would be!

Hi all,
Who wants an oil temp gauge & sender ?? - me got one !
I'm away at the moment but when I'm back tomorrow I'll take a pic and post it to see if it's what anyone wants. (and yes the sender does replace the sump plug.)

Damn, didn't get there quick enough

If you decide against it Steve, I'll definately take the sender
I've got one panel back Steve, as long as the other gets to me the used one will be up for sale soon.

I'm also looking for the sender. The sump plug is a really weird place? That means it sticks a bit underneath the car?

Gauge is simple resistance sensing - earthing through the sensor (I must confess I don't know if PTC or NTC (never got around to measuring - but almost certainly NTC).
Sensor replaces sump drain plug (yep Carl M18x1.5 is correct - used a thread gauge this morning) and yes RandomHero it does projct downwards, but only by 9mm. (if that makes a difference over speed bumps - slow down!!).
pix below of sender and kit.
Steve I'll PM you re.kit.

quite soon afterwards I found out you could buy these from several ppl on ebay etc, for like 15 euros
is there a word like 'learing-money' in english?

I was lucky, and got all my gauges and senders for just under £50 the lot, but took a risk that I had guessed correctly how it all worked

Mac, whats the part numbers on your sender? I have got one that looks suspiciously like yours, but Foggy didnt think it would fit. Since I havent changed the oil in my car since then I've never got round to trying my one.

Problem - already in the post to SteveP - he should get the kit tomorrow (I posted it 1st.class this afternoon).
Steve, when you get it could you let Carl know the markings please ??
Mac.

Got one today from Demon Tweaks , but the probe that goes into the sump is shorter. The temp eventually registers 70c which I don't know if that's correct ? Cost £30 & the part no. is 801/4/31 on the side of it with MPC323801004031 on the bag. Steve said the one on his 'correct' one is 801/4/41 which nobody seems to of heard of ! ?
If anyone has got one fitted i.e. the correct one, how long does it take to go up & what temp should it register when warm ?
Cheers,
John

I hope mine is the correct one, I don't actually know for sure!

i have a sump plug sensor in my 1400 engine.
as this engine is in my daf, the sump is directly in the driving wind.
I have constructed a wood block that shields the sensor and surrounding parts of the sump from the driving wind. (before that the meter did not leave its 'cold' corner at all...)
now the temperature slowly climbs up to about 75/80 degrees celcius.
a few weeks ago i have pulled my caravan behind the daf, this made it run slightly warmer (around 90 'C)
