Exhaust dismantling

Post by Raod »

Hello.

I've tried to separate the first and central track of my 360 exhaust and it becomes impossible to me. Do you now any tip to get one off the other? I don't have a torch to heat the second track...

Thanks for all and sorry for my english.

Undo all of the exhaust system and lightly twist the section off - unless like me it was unusable then a big hammer also works (and is usually faster) :D

You'll probably need to give it a bit of heat with a torch first if its really rusted on tbh, then once its hot spray WD-40 into it, be careful cos there'll be a LOT of smoke as the WD-40 goes on:) Don't overheat it too much though cos when you put the WD-40 on it might go on fire, 30-60 secs gentle heating will be plenty.

I'll try to do the job this monday cos today I don't have a torch and the hammer seems to be not sufficient for release the rust.

Thanks a lot.

release exhaust clamps and take it for a ride. engine heat + vibrations will do the job for you.

remember to leave the suspension rubbers in place otherwise the exhaust may fall off the car :o

Hello again.

Finally today I'd a torch for a while and in five minutes the job was done. My 360 has recovered his sound.

Thanks for the posts.
