Want Power Steering! neeed!! -drools-

Post by biewz »

Hi again ppl,
I am trying to get a list of things that need to be changed to fit PAS to an australian 360GLT and seeing as they dont exist here it is a little difficult.
so far i know;
-Pump (and bracket)
-Rack (which is the only part i have)
-Hoses
-narrow thermatic fan
-engine pipe and its bracket
-Lower steering column and those heat sheild things

Is there anything else that is different? and does the rack affix using the same clamps as the non-PAS rack?

it would be much appreciated if someone could take a pic of how the pump is mounted and what the bottom of the steering column looks like?
I am also interested in buying these parts if anyone has access to them but i guess this is not the place to be asking that :?

Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,
David

easiest way to get power steering is a couple of extra ibs psi in the front tyres and start working out your upper arms .
it can have srious side effects with the sheilas though lol

Oh so true! but 5 years of this workout should be enough for me for a little while,
That and it will be the only one in Aussie with PAS :P
The pic only adds a sense of urgency to getting it

Well, I've got one complete PAS conversion set removed, but Ali has that earmarked. I'm pretty sure I've got a complete system on another car that I'm breaking. I could save everything that's different or needed for you, that's if someone else can't come up with the bits sooner if you're in a rush!

I have seen and driven one 360 GLT with PAS is australia, so they do exist here. I also saw one advertised once. Volvo mechanic told me he had only seen one ever.

I guess it would have had to have been an import then as one of the guys i know at a dealership said that theres no record of them ever being sold in australia..
just the other day i saw a volvo 240 at the wreckers with a sump oil heater and the mains plug in the grille :? , i eventually found its book and discovered that it was brought down from glasgow

Oh well,
Its rare for one not to have AC here >.<
One other thing i wanted to ask is, are you wanting to sell both the PAS systems as kits? or you would be able to just sell a few parts?
cheers,

Either way, if you only need a few parts to make up your kit that's fine by me!
