Probably the fastest 1.7T conversion I've seen

This one Finnish guy planted a 1.7T in his 340, got the engine at 21st of October and now everything is quite finished. :P And now it's proven that 1.7T will fit in even without rotating the turbo.. Well he is not running intercooler yet so he left it currently that way, to keep every cost minimum as possible. Quite nice work with such a low cost in such a tight time scale. :P

This was not a project where to try to do everything hi-po and get the maximum power, but his main goal was to do everything good but keep the cost minimum. :) Those are few week old pics, he hasn't upload the latest ones yet.

It's his second engine swap in that car, first he had 1.4 which he changed to 1.7 some time ago and now he swapped to 1.7T.

Excelent

Can you try to get more pictures, especially of the inlet manifold?

Looks like the inlet would foul RHD, but fits LHD nicely. Good work that man!

I do hope that picture of the gold coloured object isn't what I think it is - an electric carb (low pressure) fuel pump, and a cheap one at that!

cheers

That's just currently working as a "transfer pump" to get the fuel out of the tank, pressure pump is in the engine bay. ;)

The car is running now and working fine. It took few extra days because first the car didn't start. All injectors were jammed. He got new injectors today and now it's running.

He said he's posting more pics and vids tomorrow and more specific specs what all had been changed.

The inlet to be perfect asto be modified, because it almost hits the brakes servo.

I would like to see pictures of the job done in the inlet..

He just made a simple adapter pipe to turn the inlet of the intake manifold

The car is up and running, he said that the idle is still a bit lumpy for some reason but other than that it pulls fine and much better than the NA engine.. :P
