Introduction From a 343GL Owner...

Hello there. I hope this is the right place to post this!

I'm Mike, 23, and I live in Devon, UK.

I currently own a 1982 Y-reg Volvo 343 GL. I've had it for about 3 years now and despite being a little temperamental when being started and occasionally being prone to flooding, it still runs perfectly! It passed it's MOT in July with flying colours and with a mega-low emissions report.

It's still pretty much as original as the day it came off of the production line bar a new gearbox, replaced wing mirror (soon to have the second, original one replaced because somebody recently smashed it :() and new rear window (which some vandal decided to smash)

It's still a great little runner though with about 93,000 on the clock. Here's a pic...

Great looking car, there's one very similar near me. Where in Devon are you, I'm often around the south of the county.

EDIT: Just noticed, that has a lightish red interior, not sure I've seen that before!

Yeah, the interior is an orangey red. If you like I can get a quick pic of it tomorrow and post it here?

Go for it, the earlier cars had more interesting interior colours to match their external colours. My mums old 1982 345 had a tan interior to match the.... BROWN exterior colour

Very nice, almost the twin to the '81 345GL I used to have. Does it have the early interior with the radio mount down by the gearlever or is it too new for that? I'm guessing it is, but it may be late registered.

I reckon it'll have the earlier style dash seeing as its an 1982, nice bit of variation :)

Hi and welcome to the forum

It looks a realy clean car 8)

I also quite like the early Mk2 - in a way its the most 240 like of all the 300's. (that probably sounds stange but I was brout up with early 240's)

It will be nice to see some more pics.

It has the space for a radio to go but there aren't any mounts or anything in place, nor are there any speakers anywhere in the car.

Weird, but what's even more weird is my dads old 82 GL had the Volvo Radio and ONE speaker, never had a second?!
