Volvo 700/900 2.0l or 2.3l turbo engine for transfer into 360 glt.

Am looking to get hold of one in the next couple of months so trying to find out prices etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'd look for a donor car, since you'll probably want the electronics to go with it, and various other parts can be sold. Choose a manual (so 760 Turbos are pretty much out!), as you'll need the flywheel. I'd go for a 940 with the FT engine, as the fuel system (LH Jetronic 2.4) is more responsive to modifications.

Also don't rule out a played with 2.3 NA engine - get the right parts and you'll make 140+bhp with healthy torque for minimal tuning work, and the plumbing is a lot easier. 200bhp is on tap with a cam, set of 45s and an exhaust.

cheers

Cheers dude, I'll look into it. There's a guy on driftworks that's done some 'hot' 740 turbo's. I'm going to talk to him later on in the week and see if he can sort me out with something potentially.

I'll look into a donor car now you've said that.

Thanks

If it has a 2.3 redblock engine and it ain't turbo, it's a 2.3 NA. In terms of B230s (there were also B23s back in the day)...

B230A (240)
B230E (240/740)
B230F (later 240/740/940 - replaced 'E')
B230FB (some early 940s...'hot tune' B230F...similar in power to B230E)
B230K (240/740)

B230Fs are the lowest power version, but have LH2.4 for fuel management, which will respond better to modifications, and give better MPG. I'd suggest a B230FB is the ideal version.

That's not a bad idea, although if I add transport costs to the purchase price it'd be pretty expensive in the end.

I've still got to talk to a guy who might be able to sort me out with a 'warm' tuned 740 engine fitted, failing that I may be looking for a cheap complete car to do the work myself.

Thanks

He's known as CMW on DW.

That's as much info as I've got at the moment. i'll see how it goes and pass on information as and when.
