ok details are a bit sketchy at the moment but I may be getting a metallic blue 1985 360GLEi saloon soon ,
it is currently mot'd til March and has had the same owner since 1989 and he has just retired
comes with complete service history ( at least thats what I have been told )
only other thing I know is it has a towbar fitted , I don't know the price yet but thought I would mention it here to see if there is any interest

remember guys if you get this that because its an early injection car it'll have the high compression engine, so you'll not be able to run it safely on normal unleaded petrol.
It'll either need converting using two head gaskets, and a thicker water pump top seal (which is gonna rob you approx 10-15% performance and fuel consumption), or else you'll need to use super unleaded petrol.

Interesting... I'd assume Mk2?

I would be interested depending on price. The compression is of no bother to me

If thats the early one, surely it'd be a changeover like Andy's? Would have some cool bits on it if so, maybe in line for dibs after Dai... I'll just need to do some organising first.

Doubt it, more likely to be a Mk2

Mines an 85-mk2 with B200E-don't know if that's a better lump than B19?

ok I went to see the car and its owner this morning , he's a lovely down to earth guy who has just retired from work and no longer needs the volvo ,
the car is a 1985 mk2 saloon (360 gle injection ) and its mot'd til march and taxed til the end of march , the owner will be getting his private plate taken off of the car in the next week or so and the car will be available after that ,
I am not looking to make any profit out of this deal , the owner would like as close to the £200.00 mark as possible to cover the cost of his registration transfer with a little left over .
the car had £200.00 worth of welding done for the last mot ,
I didn't get underneath but except for the tops of the door panels the trailing edge of the front nearside wing and the front valance she looks to be in pretty good nick for her age ,
the car had a new back box and battery last year and has been regularly serviced ,
he has all the reciepts and service history , the clock shows 162,000 miles which may seem sigh but remember the car is 21 years old so works out to less than 8,000 a year there was a service sticker in the door shut for March 2005 at 150,000 odd thousand so that seems to bear out the mileage
it has electric front windows , front fogs , chrome top bumpers rear tow bar and a panasonic radio cassette .
any one SERIOUSLY interested pleas get in touch with me , I don't want to waste the old guys time .
oh by the way the car has been standing but started first turn of the key ,
the owner has been using a lead additive with unleaded petrol since the demise of leaded fuel , the only two times it has broken down on him during his 16 year ownership were due to the battery last year and the other time was due toa fuel pump relay packing up
so there you have it and heres some pictures

I'm out, talked it through with Kate and whilst she might just put up with his and her's 300's, I think it'll have to be a mk3 with PAS
Lets try and find somewhere good for it, looks like with a small amount of effort could be a really nice motor

Now that is PIMP! It's going to need some (quite a bit of?) work on the bodywork in the future, as the rust monster is starting to bite, but it looks like a car which deserves it. Must....resist....360.....daily....driver.....
cheers

well at least the a pillars are rust free which is more than I can say for some 300@s I have seen LOL ,
it wasn't too bad to be honest and mechnically has been treated like a baby.
the guy only really used it for work (his wife has a car as well ) and his daily round trip was about 25 miles

he's looking for as close to £200.00 as possible for it as he wants to cover the cost of the numberplate transfer and a new set of plates for the GLE and a drink to toast it goodbye
