So I picked up a pair of Mk1 headlights last weekend, and noticed how awesomely easy it is to convert them to clears, if you so wish. Just unclip the glass, unscrew the orange cover....job done! Just not sure if it's a good look :?

Thanks to Steve for hooking a whiteboy up with some pimp parts!

Where are you going to mount it in?

There's a Black Beauty for sale in the netherlands. Thats a real rare MK1 with black exterior, and red interior. Wouter, antiekeradio has one of the few in the netherlands. Wish I had the money. Its not quite expensive...

Yes, I am actively looking for one...but it has to be...
1) RHD
2) 3dr
3) The "mid generation" mk1....short bumpers, number plate on bumper, the same dash used in early mk2s.
4) Relatively clean. A little rot isn't a bit deal but I'd like it as straight and clean as possible.

Budget is there but not huge.

I know of a mk1 for sale, but it's a) concours condition, and b) £1000....

EDIT: Oh, and I think not having a car to fit them in is a bigger problem than the clear bulbs Mick! :-P

cheers

I think he wants about £150 - £200 ish for it. I've not seen the car myself but will go and have a look to see what it is like.

Thanks Dai, that would be great. 3dr is essential. Beyond that, all things are possible...

I've spoken to the chap today. It is a 2 door :D but buy the sound of things its a early MK2 :(

In a way that would do what you want - I asume the front pannels will all bolt on. I'm sure I have most of teh front end bits.

I'll know better some time next week when I go and look at it.
