if any one nows where i can get this for reaonable price please contact me







the seal where the rotor plugs on leaks the rotor is old and the cap too <this is reason i need new

Should be fairly easy to get hold of in most places, but genuine Volvo ones will last longer than cheap Halfords ones.

I presume the seal your referring to the cam oil seal. It does seem to be letting a fair bit of oil through.

I had a new one fitted a week or two ago as it started leaking as you may have seen in my oil leak post I don't know where the garage got it from. They're an independent garage so may not use genuine Volvo.

Yeah, you need a cam oil seal, that is super special. Mr V still do the rotor arm, cap and seal As an aside, whilst you are there, the cam cover gasket is a service item, every 6 months I believe, so might be worth grabbing one of those too.

The cam cover gasket is a 6 month service thing? That sounds far to often surly... Haynes book of lies makes no mention of it being a service item in the routine maintenance section.

Just noticed that you mentioned this in my post, must have missed that bit

Anyway, does the cam cover have to be removed to replace the seal. All I could see in Haynes was how to remove the cam, and I got the impression from Andy that it wasn't needed...

well done for diagnostic Dr.chris and thanks for the tip on removing the air box it helped SOOOO much,

wierd thing is my oil is nice and clean gtx3 coolness and new in
it must of been oily for a while and moved around inside etc

cam cover seal isn't a 6 month thing Every few years, or when it starts leaking Yeah, that dizzy is just sliiiightly oily. New cap, rotor, cam cover off, old seal out and new seal in, and job done.

do i have to do somthing to cam belt?

Nah, you don't have to do anything to the cambelt. Ooh, btw, do yerself a favour and go to the Volvo dealer and get geniune parts for all three, you should get change out of 80Euros and you'll have parts that, in the seal's case will probably last almost the rest of the time of the car, the one that's in there is probably the original. In the case of the cap and rotor, it'll last 3-4 years rather than 6 months

I thought the cam cover gasket was a 6month thing, not the cam oil seal, but the big rectangular one. Could be wrong though!

And Mr V, as in a Volvo dealers proper, for reasons pettaw gives!
