• DL? but it's petrol...

New member's permitted one stupid question:

My log book says my 1983 Y reg beige 343 Volvo is a DL, but doesn't that mean diesel? It's a petrol engine.

DL is just above base model, means Deluxe

L = Luxe
DL = De Luxe
GL = Grande Luxe
GLE = Grande Luxe Executive (or Einspritze - i.e. injection)
GLT = Grande Luxe Touring
GT = Grand Tourer
SE = Special Equipment or Edition
CD = Corps Diplomatique (i.e. all singing, all dancing and fit for a diplomat)
