I've got a set of twinshocks here for an old MX bike, they are rebuildable, so i'm thinking of getting in there and stiffening up the damping ( especially the rebound) and the trying to replace the cars standard shocks with these things, so coilovers in a roundabout way, with the original leaf still in place.

Can anyone tell me the rough lenght of a rear shock when it's out of the car, and also the lenght of the thread on the shock (i need the lenght of the part that sticks out from under the car when suspension is fully extended, not including the parts that go into the mounts, as i will make custom mounts) and does anyone know how much travel the shocks need to have?

anyone got the dimesions of the standard shocks?
Found these on ebay, they are off heavier cars, so may be stiffer, might be worth a shot?
