volvo 340 breather tubes valve

Post by blueprint »

Hi I have a volvo 340 1.7 GL . I think it has a weber carb . There is a rubber tube that runs from the bottom of the carb to the main breather tube . Inside the hose from the carb there is a green valve which i removed . Unfortunately i forgot which way round this valve goes.
Please click on images
Any help appreciated. Thanks

There *might* be some information on this or a similar breather pipe with a restrictor or valve in it, this might have been for a 1.4 though. Either way, a good search might bring something up. I'm afraid I can't really help much on that issue, other than to say someone should be along who will know fairly soon!

As for the images, you need to host them on the web, either on your own webspace hosting, or for ease a lot of people use something like http://www.photobucket.com to host the images, then using the IMG tag, insert the link to the image, then hit the IMG tag again.

Don't worry about direction of that piece, it's only a restriction, and works both ways round! You do need it though, the car with be a pain in the backside without it!

Whilst you have that hose off, give the inside a blow out with an airline or something, or even a rinse and full drying. The 1.7 is great at filling up it's oil separater and blowing oily lumps around that hose, which also make the car feel rough!
