340 Redline **NOT CURRENTLY** for sale

We may be making the switch to a car-free lifestyle. It all depends on what happens with my work; I could be made redundant this week and we may be relocating to France.

Anyhow, the car may soon be for sale. I know that this isn't the best place to offload a 300 as most of us have a sufficient quantity, hence it'll be put on t'Bay. However, here's a tentative offer to see if anyone is interested.

Here are some details:
  • 1989 340 Redline (1.7, 5 speed, 5 door)
  • Approx 90,000 miles
  • MOT to December
  • Tax to end July
  • Generally good condition, no known life-threatening tin worm
  • Located in Nottingham
The good points:
  • New shocks all round
  • New spring plates
  • New cam and alternator belts
  • New door hinges (note to Mac, I really will try and get this finished this week  )
  • Main dealer 12k service December 2006
  • Waxoyled January 2007
  • Complete set of new brake lines 2006
  • Snowcap and volvo300mania number plates (!)
The bad points:
  • Lots of rust on front valance behind spoiler
  • Small hole in offside A pillar
  • Offside rear wheel arch needs attention
  • Sundry minor rust spots
  • Carb needs attention (rebuild?)
  • Exhaust has seen better days
  • Driver's seat heater u/s
  • Slightly bent rear bumper (hopefully the bracket can be straightened)
  • Some intriguing noises since the shocks were fitted. It's been back to the garage, they replaced one of the new shocks and gave it a clean bill of health :?
I'll put up some more info and pictures when I know what's happening. If anyone is interested, please send me a PM.

Here's a picture from last year's BKV:

My folks have a sprawling farmhouse in Pouancé (near Châteaubriant). We plan to stay with them while we settle in, but given the amount of space they have we may end up living in one of their buildings. Who knows?

Ideally, I'll take the Redline with me and stick it in one of the barns. It would be nice to be able to work on it properly as it's hard to get anything done with it parked on the road.

Found 'em! For Mick's amusement, here are some pictures of my first car :D

Before anyone asks, no it wasn't me that dented it. I eventually sold it to a lad who was going off to Bristol University. It made the 140 mile journey for a year or two, until he turned it over on the motorway

I love the 2CV :D My dad had a couple many years ago!

It will be a shame if you do sell the Redline. Is it almost certain to go ahead?

Still not sure. I'd rather not, but we'll have to see.
