Help: I am trying to find some turbo camshafts for a b230ft with a 16v head. I have been sending messages to catcams in US. and Canada but i haven't even received any replies at all. In Australia the only things i can get are built up and reground to something the cam grinder thinks that would be o.k. It also costs a lot of money. Too much to take a chance that they won't be any good. If anyone can give me some information on where to get them or any help at all it would be great. At the moment the bottom end has been built, the head has been ported but is still at the machine shop waiting for us to tell him what type of cams we are going to put in it.

I sent the stock cams to the regrinder and he checked the profiles. They are very mild and will work against the turbo when on full boost. Cat Cams advertise turbo cams that will run with standard lifters, so it would nice to be able to get a price before we spend too much money on rebuilding the stock cams.

Kenny on Turbobricks just rolled 430 whp on his 16v Turbo with stock cams. He just said it starts to run out of puff above 6000rpm, which isn't unreasonable.

You can use Penta AQ171 cams, which are hotter. The Tbricks crowd haven't played with aftermarket 16vT cams yet, so I can't comment on those. The standard B204FT cams are extremely mild, and best avoided.

I don't know if Enem, KG Trimning or Sten Parner Motor will be able to help you out.

cheers

i thought that was the case. Normaly a stock na cam will give a fairly warm cam for a turbo engine. With turbos you do need to keep the overlap down as you will end up blowing the boost out of the exhaust valve.
