S40 -

Alright guys,

Not 300 related i'm afraid but i'm looking to sell the S40:

1996 P reg
Volvo S40 1.8
Aircon
110k
cambelt just done
new discs and pads all round
new front arb mounts
new radiator pipe
new windscreen
will need a new wheel bearing

Looking for £800

Any interest? I couldn't sell it immediately as I need to find a replacement daily driver which could take a few weeks

Just looking to sell because I love fast cars and now i've got a full time job I can afford something a bit quicker!

That seems so cheap, Ali. A similar car would cost you about 2500 pounds in Germany ...

Doubt it, not aware of S40's rusting atall!

Nope no rust, as you can see its not immaculate but the price reflects that, there are some scuffs/scratches down the rear left door which has been touched up by the previous owner, can get better pics of that if requires, its pretty tidy other than that really!

Rather tempting. Does it still need the new wheel bearing? Any idea how much it would cost to get one fitted?

Well I originally thought it was the wheel bearing but then I jacked up every corner and had a yank and theres no play, it just passed its MOT too which would have picked it up I thought? So i'm not sure if it is a wheel bearing issue, i've had a whirring noise proportional to speed which made me think it was the bearing but not sure if balancing could cause this?

If its the bearing (which I don't see that it can be but still) the front was around £30 and rear around £70 from memory

Thanks for your replies Ali. I need to find out what it's going to cost to sort out the bodywork on the 340. If it going to be too much and your S40 is still available, I could be very interested.
