WANTED- 300 near(ish) Sunderland. Save my mate from a mondeo

Ok my mate's restoring his '75 manta 'A' series, so he wants a reliable driver for the winter and probably some more time after that. Naturally a 300 would be great for this, total reliability and all the wet weather opposite lock heroics you could want.
Basically any 300 considered, but must have T&T so it can be driven immediately, and should be no further than nottingham-ish or edinburgh-ish. Up to 300 quid for the right car but he knows full well that I paid £102 for my mint condition vario.
Any replies welcome and all offers considered.
Cheers.

I've got a 340 1.7 coming my way soon. I know it needs a steering rack but I do have a good spare one about I could fit. If the car looks good enough I'll sort it out to sell rather than scrap it.

Cheers Dai, I'll let my mate know. Though we appear to have sourced a nice C20XE from middlesborough so maybe he'll back out of buying a 300.
Here ya go Chris
Gorgeous isn't she? The manta's pretty nice too
It currently looks a bit less tidy as we've pulled the vinyl roof off to uncover the tinworm underneath, removed half the glass and chrome, and pulled out the engine and box to make way for something with a little more 'pep'

:O She's awesome! If it's any use, there's a series B breaking in the motorclub, has a Cav GSi engine in, but bodyworks... special

If there's any bits needed that are common, let me know.

Cheers Chris, I'll let you know. Looks like we might be pretty sorted now:

Item ended early because we went and picked it up
Apparently the engine ran a 14.121 in a slightly heavier-than-a-manta mk3 capri. Should be fun.

Because we've got everything we need to sort the manta out now, it's doubtful my mate will want a 300 anymore, unless the bodywork is going to be hellishly expensive. I'll bump this topic if he decides he still wants one.
Cheers lads,
John
