I can't see me letting it rot... are these graphics available anywhere or will it be a custom-made jobby required?

And the rot on the drivers door - is this goona be hard to sort properly?

That's not Dave's (aka D4V2K1) old 360 is it, Steve met him once I believe. The reg was F268 LBH. There are some pictures kicking about somewhere, but that had those graphics, and similar rust on the door I think.

Have now found pics from when Steve met up with him.

And this also this pic Dave posted.

That's the car.
It's done about 20K in the past year or so, but has been very well maintained throughout. Any idea what I should do about the graphics? I do kind of quite like them...

Just heard that the red low mileage 360 GLT saloon locally (mentioned it before I think) is coming up for sale... Could it be 5?

any decent graphics place should be able to make replicas of the stripes , may not be very cheap but would be worth looking into

Sounds nice... if you can't handle 5... ;)

Well, I am a nutter with... let's see, 12 mk2 Escorts (varying from mint to projects), 3 Metro's, 2 Capri's. 4 classic Opels etc so I reckon I can handle 5 300's
The red GLT I speak of is a pearly beast, those be-spoilered saloons look ace in red - but I have fallen in love with this shiny black hatch :)
Just gotta get them all under cover - the 300-sized space in my double garage is currently filled with the untaxed but tested 1.4GL I picked up last month, but I feel the black car should be in there away from the frost, and the restored grey 1.4 is returning home at last this weekend....
I must get this double car-port sorted ASAP

Yes it is my old car!

I've not been on here in a long while but am glad the car is back with an enthusiast!

Hope she does you well Chris, it will be nice to see a restoration

Thought I'd really f***ed it today!
I used it all day to run about in, but as I was heading to (finally!) pick the grey 340 up, I noticed the temperature gauge was sky-high all of a sudden. I just wanted to get to the garage where I could check it out, but all I got was red traffic lights!
Anyway. the car gave two massive bangs (like gunshots) and I thought that was it!
5 litres of water and ten minutes later and it started and drove fine...

Any idea's?

*EDIT BAD LANGUAGE*

5 litres obviously implies a massive leak!! Is there any puddles under the car? If so it'll be probably something simple like a split pipe or knackered rad. If not is there white 'smoke' coming out of the exhaust? Or is there a mayo-type substance in the filler cap/dipstick/expansion tank? If so that's the head gasket gone. Either way driving it around with no water and it overheating is not a good idea and could then mean you've warped the head too.

Definitely check the bigger coolant hoses, may not be a huge leak, as mine drank loads of water with just a small leak from the rad top hose.

Well, it seems ok!
It wouldn't start at first, the steam had wet the dizzy cap etc and that had to come off and be cleaned up (and what a pain the dizzy cap clips are to get back on!), it fired up - and strangely doesn't appear to haver lost any water overnight. Runs fine, drives fine, no shite on the oil cap so all appears to be well - the bang (like a gunshot) must have been just a backfire. Need to replace some of that water with coolant in the next couple of days (and do the same to the grey 1.4) before I tempt fate and we get heavy frosts

I haven't seen him yet to discuss price as he wasn't in when I popped round. 2 owners, 45K, no rust... There's a dent on the drivers wing that wants sorting and a couple of marks on the n/s rear quarter but a good polish should get it looking something like.....
It was cossetted and garaged until 2004 and used daily since, so I may be arriving in time to save from the dreaded rust. And funnily enough, it's the same chap who I bought my grey 1.4 from that I subsequently restored
