hi, is there a way to remove the springs without a spring compresor? im at my workshops and want to have a go at lowering the car but i dont have a compresor so any bodge ideas will be grate

Don't even try it. Thats lifethreatning! Try to find a garage with a spring compressor. Ive seen one spring loose, and it dented the roof (4 meters high).

Also: With a std. spring, dont chop more than 1 coil (?)

As above, I wouldn't recommend it! (I also wouldn't recommend lowering the car by cutting springs, as they were made for a specific purpose to certain tolerance). When I switched my springs (not lowering just stiffer) the stock springs needed compressing pretty much as far as my compressors could tighten to get out so I expect they pack quite a punch if it all went wrong!

lol, or alternatively (as a friend found out) watch your brake assembly dig to australia through your garage floor!
