Another MKI Turbo :]

Post by Frits »

A friend started also a 343 turbo project after seeing my volvo 343 turbo. We are thinking about starting a drift-team.

Offcourse he want to be faster, so he took the 1.7
Actualy, I don't think he can beat me :]

A little update. Because its a left hand drive, the header and turbo straight fit.. It's not fare :x

I think I know what to put in my 340 :P But I'll wait till this guy finished it, then I'll know what it takes.

Haha, no worries Frits, I'm putting the B18ft in my old 1.4, RHD, and I'm not impressed you guys have so much room for the manifolds!

I don't think I've taken any pics that show it that well, but this might just... you can see the brake servo at least, and the steering column is under that!

All our free space is over this side :(

And just because I like this picture....

I havn't put a project thread up here yet, I did put one on the VOC, I was hoping to have pursuaded Aymat for a projects forum/garage to be sorted first, but doesn't look like that'll happen for a bit!

OK, it shows it very well. But why you didn't go for the 16v then? Its faster (in original form....) and drops in easy.

The 16v will probably not fit in our dutch LHD, because the servo etc. is totally in the way. (but still, no one really tried actually)

Why don't just open a project thread in the general discussion or tuning? You can made it moved to the project/garage forum later I think?

Good luck with the turbo mate!

I started thinking about doing this swap before Husky did it, but at the time didnt have enough knowledge to do it! Basically I've wanted to do the turbo for so long, it was almost etched into my brain! I've always wanted a turbo too, the power I'm not too worried about, this is going to be my comfortable daily driver, Fake, my 1.7, is going to get a valver probably for the rallying I do!

When I get a spare half hour I'll write up a project thread, and what bits are needed, to do the turbo conversion.
