Hello everyone!

I am looking to buy a pre-1986 (small bumpers, indicator repeaters on the wing etc) 340. It must be a 5-door model, and in very good condition, as I'm too busy working to spend time fixing it.

The ideal would be something in the region of 1982-1984, about Y registration, in blue, but I realise that I can't be that fussy and I am open to suggestions! I would be happy with 3 door if it's really old (I mean about 1977-1982).

Basically, my Uncle used to have exactly what I want, a 1983 light blue 5-door, registration HCC 692Y. It was perfect, and the pinnacle of Volvo glory, but sadly it has long departed, so I am looking for a successor.

I am willing to invest good money to get exactly what I want, so if you have a 340 or 345 or 343 that fits the bill, please get in touch.

I live in Cambridge, and willing to travel a fair distance, as long as the car is worth it.

Good luck with the search mate, you might have to be very patient but they do come up on ebay from time to time. Here's a tidy one that ticks all the boxes except it's a 3dr, and red.

Thanks very much! I’ve already been in touch with the seller, and unfortunately someone pipped me to the post and it was already sold. I’m absolutely gutted!

That's a shame, looked a nice one! One will come up eventually, but will most likely have to be patient! The Mk2's are rare unfortunately, my favourite model too.

Might be worth checking that Autotrader one out again, looks like its still on there. Maybe the sale fell through?
