Jack has found the same car in exchange, in mint condition I've heard... And it was in YOUR country Tom! There was an ad on Mobile.de for a long time.

Yeah, I've been a bit lazy with looking there recently. At the moment I'm trying to reduce the amount of cars and parts I have, and fix up the ones I do have - a third 300 would be nice but only if it literally falls into my lap

That shows how bad my comprehension of Dutch is. I was assuming from his posts he was giving up his hobby - looks like I was mistaken!

I'll correct myself How about this beauty: the 345 GLS "VIP". And it's a Mk1! Only a 4-speed 'box though ...

Check out the rear headrests, the GT steering wheel, the decals, the "Lucluc" alloys ...

Hi,
I think the 345 GLS was sold in my neighbourhood, 5 min. from my house. But Jack must have been really fast, otherwise I would have bought the car for 300,- (to keep it for myself). A week later the car was on marktplaats.nl for 1200,-.
Due to the environment laws in Germany, I guess, there will be several good 340ies for sale nest year. Hopefully some GLS.

Ouch, you must've been disappointed at that ... However, I guess it's still better than the car going for 300 Euros to some random person who's just after a cheap set of wheels.

Those "environment laws" really get my blood boiling. All they are aimed at doing, is getting people to buy new cars. Pollution levels have not dropped significantly anywhere since those confounded new "Umwelt Zones" have come into place.

BTW, have you seen the '81 GLS for sale in France? I requested some pics, but they're much worse than the one's in the Ebay ad. It's been standing for a while, and all the door handles are missing.

yes, less then 24h on the website and already sold. Astaunishing.
Doesn`t matter anyway, my main interest is in Mk I models. I think there still are some of them sleeping in garages, they will come to light the next years.
The french one may be ok (Zustand 4), but France is far and I am patient to find a car nearby.

Seen his complete collection too. Verrrry nice! He figured: better 8 beautiful cars that get restored and everything, then 16 reasonably nice cars...So he sold some of them.

MK1 GLS/DLS'es: There still for sale in Sweden, sometimes. Look at www.blocket.se ... Its a long drive from here. And I got everything to make a DLS, so maybe I will...some day.
