Don't show me things like that, I'm liable to do something stupid! As it is there are two new additions to the fleet coming this weekend. Even i don't have room for a 66 on top of that.
Still, lovely looking car.

Snow work

I've had loads of cars - some four wheel drive even. To this day the little 66 GL I had was the best on snow or ice. Must have been something to do with the narrow tyres and variomatic transmission, but that thing went places a lot of cars couldn't. Not sure about one as a daily driver now, as even back in the 1980's when I had mine it was outclassed by most cars, and parts then were a nightmare [but here that issue is obviously negated to a degree!]. Would make an interesting toy though, and looks very good. Hitting good money for a DAF - but will it stop in the UK??? Somehow I doubt it. Foggyjames and his trailer to foreign shores?

They look nice if i did not have the Daf 46 I may have put in a bid. I would like the boot lid of the blue one foe my car as mine has a large dent in it.

Daf 46! very interesting! I'd like to get one of the volvo build Daf 46's jsut for interest as they tweaked them a bit under volvo ownership but never called them the Volvo 46 and also didnt rework them as comprehensively as the 66 models.

nice looking car and conviently already restored!! it was originally blue though....dont think the 66 was produced in such a bright green was it??

I have a friend with a green volvo 66 which has under bonnet colour similar to that car. kind of now adds to the suspicion that the car went from typical-1970s-Daf-and-volvo lurid colour to a more subltle british racing green colour during restoration!

Yes the daf 46 rides better than the 44 and the trim is more like the volvo 66, the only problem with the 46 is it only has 1 belt it is half a 66 trans which I do not like :(

will probably painted it in what ever colour was available.

Blue or green?

Looks as though it was originally green - the blue car is the spare car, surely?

Apologies for calling you Shirley!

Didn't go at £365 - would it have gone higher if had been a DAF I wonder?

hi Stefan,

given that your 46 is a 1976, is that not one of the volvo built ones / ones built under volvo ownership?

I've got a 46 parts manual published by volvo so the front cover says "volvo daf 46"

interesting..... (inside is a (a far as I can tell) unamended parts manual.

did volvo make any changes to the 46 at all?
