n00b alert, what are these snow caps I hear so much about?

Bonnet vent cover, looks a nadgers like a scoop and gives you a ram air heater blower

cover that goes over your air intake, looks a bit 'bonnet bulgy'.
like a trick intake.

but its to stop snow blocking your intake.
