Is he still on here the guy with the black 360 turbo?
Remebering back to when i last done it on a mk2 golf, will i have to change to different injectors high or low imp?
can I just splice my sensors in without having to take them out and do the whole resistance temp themometer thingy?
Do i have to change my TPS?
where did you put a tee piece in for your oil feed to turbo? oil pressure?
do you have a map handy for beer tokens
can i get it done before 22 feb next drift practice?

Theres a couple of guys on here running MS, though for the map it was only Ali running the turbo. He hasn't been around a huge amount since he sold it.

Not too much lately - but he is on Driftworks called Ali, now has a red 200SX

You will need 940 turbo injectors, coil (to replace the Renix 360 ignition) and fuel rail (for the fuel pressure regluator). PM me if you're interested as I pulled these ready for if I ever did it to my old 360GLT.
Jimbean wrote:can I just splice my sensors in without having to take them out and do the whole resistance temp themometer thingy?
Yep, you can reuse most of the standard sensors and splice the MS loom into the injection loom. Nice and easy as the injection loom is completely seperate to the car loom. The ECU is located behind the centre console and Ali mounted the Megasquirt box inside the glovebox. You'll need some relays to run the fuel pump, pettaw can advise with that. You will also need an air inlet temp sensor to replace the flappy paddle LE-Jet crap. I think we pulled one from a Hyundai for Ali's car. Ali used a Vauxhall Frontera intercooler which fitted nicely.
Jimbean wrote:Do i have to change my TPS?
You'll need a potentiometer style TPS, yep. Pull one from an 850 from the scrappy and make an adapter plate.
Jimbean wrote:where did you put a tee piece in for your oil feed to turbo? oil pressure?
Oil feed was taken from the oil pressure sender IIRC and for the drain got a return welded into the sump. I also have a spare sump and gaskets too....
I'd have a read on turbobricks to see what kind of boost pressures people run on +T conversions. It seems 10psi on the 13c would be fine and with a decent exhaust and cam shouldnt be around the 180bhp mark.

thanks for the info good job we have a volvo breakers in swaffham im pretty sure i have a ford air temp sensor around here from the golf MS.
why can't i run the old distributer? I would prefer to stay away from the coil packs as thats where it got complicated with the trigger wheel and so forth.

You'll be able to run the same distributor but not the same way - the standard 360 injection ignition is controlled by the Renix unit which has a built in ignition map and can't be altered.

was going to use megasquit to control the spark but still use the exsisting dizzy and coil

Stock 300 coil is part for the "ECU" for want of a better word, the Renix uni is map and coil in one. Replace with a standalone coil and all is well.

brilliant i get what you mean now, all that shit on the coil is to do with renix ecu

somthing like this would do the trick then yes?

My housemate has a 740 Turbo running MSnS-E on a v2.2 board which I 'look after'...so I know a little about MS. Andy (Pettaw) gave us a lot of help with getting it installed, and I've slowly caught up with what he did. We're now running Ford coil packs triggered by the standard flywheel trigger...and quite a few other 'accessories'...
That or a coil from a 940 turbo...whatever, really.
MS is expecting to see high impedance injectors (which the standard NA ones are, AFAIK)...whereas Volvo turbo injectors are low Z and use a resistor pack. Personally, I'd find some larger Bosch injectors which are high Z to start with, since you'll be mapping it anyway. The standard Volvo turbo injectors don't have much headroom in them, if you want to start 'playing' beyond 10psi, etc.
I think the guys have got you covered there though...unless you're missing anything else?
cheers
James

I always wondered what all those connections were for too

Or you can use resistor pack with low impedance injectors just like stock system in turbo Volvo so if can get cheap resistor pack and cheap low impedance injectors, there is no reason to say no, just make sure they are enough big that you don't run out of juice.

I was under the impression that Volvo T5 injectors were the common solution to MS pimped redblocks - are they high or low impedance?

Of course, you can use the resistor pack...but if you can use any injectors you want, why not save yourself a wiring job and choose some high impedance ones?
As for T5 injectors...not so much...they flow a liiiittle bit more than redblock Turbo ones. Problem is that the load is spread across another pot, so each injector is smaller than it would otherwise be. Some of the larger 'R' injectors are a bit more like it, but standard original T5 ones aren't much of an upgrade. I'll try metering the ones in Ryan's C70 T5 sometime to see if they are high or low Z. I suspect they are high Z.
I think the tuned Redblock boys run anything that's cheap

Ryan's car runs Siemens/Deka 630cc injectors, but they're proving to be a little flaky (a common story, it seems), so he's buying some 600+cc Bosch ones instead. I'll probably run something from Bosch in the 4-500cc range. Stock Redblock turbo injectors are ~330cc.
cheers
James

17 ohm injectors on the T5 when read on my meter. Need to check them for LPG conversions
