Group-F/H 360

Post by Fuse »

I spotted this nice Group-F/H 360 rally car with full papers for sale. http://www.nettiauto.com/volvo/360/2506073

Price might seem high but Group-F/H fully prepared 300-series with full papers are quite damn rare. Many 200-series, though those go even more higher price, but engine in those is usually 2.8 EVO or something similiar so it's no wonder. :)

Translation:

Engine B230, 531-head, made by Kent Karlsson (at their site it says that engine is dynoed 278hp/301Nm), KG9-cam, Keihin carbs, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, close ratio 4-speed dogleg gearbox, 4.88 diff with a locker/LSD, quick rack, front suspension adjustable Sellholm, rear suspension adjustable Bilstein, front brakes 4-piston with large vented disc, rear drums! (same thing as in the factory 343 turbo rallycross car, it had the drums at rear too, proves that those are not the problem, undersized front brakes are), new BiMarco seats expires at 2012 and Sabelt Sabelt harness expires at 2010. Sold because of the new 4WD rally car.

There were some vids of the car in action at their site http://www.teamalaranta.com/ but those are not there anymore for some reason. There few other nice looking 300-series pics there though. :P

Double check homologation though, 343 isn't homologated here in the NL, as far as i'm aware of...

International homologation (Group-A) has expired for 340/360, otherwise that car couldn't be in Group F because that's a rally class in here for the rally cars which international homologation has expired. The car has to meet all the regulations though. Group-H has similiar vehicles in Sweden but that's not completely same thing, turbo vehicles are allowed etc... Original idea of Group F was to keep expenses low but nowadays many vehicles are around 35 000€, though some sub 10k€ vehicles also exist but not very competitive.

I know homologation is experied. I mean that over here the 360 GLT/GLE/GLS have been homologated, but as far as im aware the 343 GLS isn't...
