Right,

Think i shattered my clutch last night, Went from third to second and lost all drive with a rattling coming from the bell housing.

Prop still attached and moving though so not that.

my question is wheres the best place to get it, Gsf don't seem to have it.

Theres ones on ebay ranging from £30 - £100

£30 are pattern parts but anyone know if there okay?

Cheers

Scott

Sure it's the clutch? The splines on the output shaft or the prob could've been stripped?

Not 100% sure no. Need to get it on the ramp and stripped.

The prp is still turning so the prop is fine. But as soon as you put your foot down, even in gear. it just sound slike peices of metal rattling around in the engine/bell housing :s

I have a £17 friction plate in my valver, no problems yet despite much abuse. It's hard for a clutch to be sub-standard (unless we're talking high-power applications), it's just a metal disc with friction material attached.

If only that was true. I've found big differences in makes of clutch. Borg and beck seem to be about the best.

LUK seem to be about the worst and will not take abuse at all. I've had a few of them only last a very short time.

Original Volvo 360 clutch plates were made by Valeo IIRC. Pressure plates and release bearings by Sachs ...

The one in my valver has NO maker's name on it, and seems to be coping.
