Hi all,
My 360 glt has a b200k engine with injection k-jetronic, and in my opinion the motor does not run as well has i aspected to, it has power, runs smoodly, but in aceleration in my opinion its very slow... guess its because my daily user is a c70 with 225hp.
I was thinking of swapping engine with a b230e or putting some carburators. My question is:
1 - Should i let it be like it is, because its all original and it is a special 25 model?
2 - Should i swap the engine and put a b230e?
3 - should i change the inlet manifold and put 2 carburators?
If the 3th option is the best what inlet manifold should i install? the carbs has to be put in a horizontal manifold because of the hood... what carbs should i use?
Hopping to have opinions from who knows better this cars then me.
Thanks
Hugo

Hmm, I doubt very much that your car would have all mechanical k-jetronic injection, also I doubt that it has B200K as that is carburettor engine.
If engine is original, it should be B200E or B200F (both with electric multipoint fuel injection) or if pre -85(ish) then it could be B19E (with electric multipoint injection) but I think that is bit rare.
How about swapping cam and fuel injection to megasquirt? That can really change that engine and if you still need more go, then put B230 block in and you get bit more go?

Im not an expert on mecanic and u could be right about the reference of the engine, and i promise i will try to find out the correct engine number/type.
All i know is that my car has injection and is a 2.0... If it help the model brings a Kat, because of the polution rulles in swiss.
I will find out and post here.
One question, what is megasquirt??? What cam can i put in there?
Tks

Then I would believe that you have B200F, it could be also B200E, however that does not really matter a lot if you put something bit more flexible fueling for it.
Megasquirt is programmable fuel injection computer that can control also ignition:

Official pages are in here:

I did build that without any previous experience of soldering, car electrics (most complicated thing that I had installed was radio) or ignition systems, so I would not say that it is very hard to build, install or adjust.
My car has Volvo K-cam, which I would consider almost minimum upgrade, however with stock fuel injection it is not working too well as fuel injection won't have enough large adjustment window so to get it run as it should you will need some changes to fueling, also it does not hurt to get ignition to adjustable version either.
Remember that you can source cams from bigger Volvos, mostly older 200-series is where you can find those good cams like K and H. Yours is perhaps A which is better than Y or L, but still it is considered quite lame in performance vice.

Megasquirt has no safety features, so it you set it up wrong, you WILL destroy your engine, so it is not a job to be taken lightly. Having said all that, its not at all difficult to install, but it is definitely not easy to get it smooth....I'm still having trouble and I've had MS installed for almost 3 years.
