B200e Injectors

Post by Chris_C »

Morning all, I am confused...

Does anyone with a GLT feel like popping outside for 2 secs and taking pictures on the part no on the injector for me please ;) Or writing it down would be just as ace. I'm after the Bosch part no on the injector itself, not the plug, illustrated here
Image
as the 0280150734 number.

I remember reading a while ago Dai saying that redblock turbos have very low (2.5ohm?) injectors, and t5's show 17 ish. If you could measure that too (multimeter on Resistance, or the omega symbol, push the wire clip in the picture above in to the plug, slide off connector, then put the 2 probes on the 2 pins) that would be super!

Cheers all

Chris, my GLi is outside in the office car park. But before I get my hands dirty, 0 280 150 734 should be the right no. for a B200E/F injector.

Cheers

I have just same numbers in mine, even parts did came off from 240, I guess they did not use lot of different injectors.

That should be according to one spreadsheet 220cc/min @ 3bar and good for 143hp, however 360 uses 2.5bar so it requires increase in fuel pressure to reach such power. Also their resistance is 16 ohms.

Spot on the resistance I get, cheers Jani.

I've had them out today, found a knackered O ring which has been replaced with the correct spec and material one. Spray pattern seems very good now I've given them a basic clean, though I can't measure flow yet. I'm tempted to send them to Jimathan (of several Volvo forums fame) for a full ultrasonic clean up and new o rings etc.

It is amazing what proper cleaning does to them, here I can send four to Bosch car service center and it costs 80 euros total, injectors are like new ones when they come back and there is also paper document of what has been done and what is their performance in % of new unit etc. Ton of info in that paper.

I should clean up my 3 as one is new, but I have trouble remember to send them to service, old age or something sm1

There is tiny filter inside of injector, that can get bit blocked also in 20 years or so.

Yeah.

One of those was almost totally jammed and all the o-rings were crappy etc... they came back good as new from the Bosch Car Service. :P It does wonders to the smoothnes of the idle etc.. when the injectors are in proper shape.

When I first got the red GLT, I had all sorts of running problems, so I took my injectors to a Bosch agent for ultrasonic cleaning, and he said that although they looked dirty on the outside, the insides were so clean that after he tested them he said don't waste your money, they're perfect as they are, so just charged me for the testing and nothing else :)

Incidentally my running problems was a blowing headgasket.
