1988 Black 360GLT - Jet

All going well, Jet will become a second car tomorrow :( So, she is going to have to be sold, which... I'm having issues with. I've never sold a car before

She has MOT and Tax until the beginning of Sept.
Current Mileage 102,000

She's a Dec '88 car, making her '89 model year, and has all the toys that comes with so electric windows, electric mirrors, PAS + normal GLT bits like spoilers, splitters, GLT suspension and fog lamps.

Since I've had her (end of Feb) she's had some fixing of minor things:
Service
Cam belt
Sunroof now fixed and working
Fogs fixed
Dashboard lamps replaced
Boot light fixed
Glovebox light fitted (was missing)
Blower fan fixed (I'm guessing the resistor pack had packed up at some point, as it was removed and the standard "connect the wires to position 3" bodge done, this has been fixed)
There is likely to be other stuff, but most of the time I try to fix things when I see them, rather than logging them!

Not long after I got her, I got bored of LE jet being useless, so went on a mission to try and find out why (the standard 360GLT being rough as hell for the first 30 secs on a cold start, and as normal was undrivable until it sorted itself out). So, I stripped out the LE Jet kit, original plan was to fit LH from a late 2.0 240, so that it'd have lambda and closed loop EFI. I then remembered (was prodded/kicked etc by several people...) that this was supposed to be a temporary daily, and I wasn't supposed to be playing with it, and changing flywheels technically counted as fiddling  .

So, I cleaned up all the electronic parts, checked all parts were within Green Book tolerances, replaced and overhauled those that weren't and put it all back together. Injectors were flow tested and spray pattern tested, and cleaned so that they are all even again. New o-rings etc put on. She does run a hell of a lot better for it, and is drivable as soon as the engine is running. I'm trying to avoid the cliche of "it pulls much more strongly", but fuel consumption has got a lot better. I havn't driven a better LE jet car  I know I'm not going to get back the FI refurb costs, but it makes the car really really nice to drive.

Currently has a Panasonic CD player fitted, most likely will have the orig one back in when I sell it, but talk to me, I don't have an immediate use for it.

Bad points, she got an advisory on the last MOT (beginning of Sept, as is Tax) for ARB droplink. That is noticeable when driving, I got a pair at the BKV but have been dealing with a house move since, so that will either be fixed or in the boot (they are getting hard to come by). Other than that, there is some rust in the sill, but not on the jacking point, it's by the b pillar. It's not bad, and will be a hell of a lot easier to fix than the jacking points are, but will supply pics. It wasn't mentioned last year at the MOT if that helps. The front engine crossmember (at least, it is on a 340, on the 360 it just holds the ARB) has surface rust, but this is a bolt on item. It doesn't have rust in the "standard" 300 places as far as I have noticed though, which is one of the reasons I got it. Other than that, there is a fair bit of laquer peel on the rear driver side door. Black 300's seem prone to that :(

Sorry I've only got arty photo's rather than helpful ones, I'll try and get some tomorrow, it's dark now.

Price, I really have no idea tbh, the GLT on ebay this week finished at £620, but that was low mileage and didn't have the laquer peel Jet does.

New I'd remember some other bits, the bonnet that is on the car has had something happen to it in the past (I've no idea what though, it was like that when I got it) but isn't rusty.

Rear bumper is currently a blue colour coded, but I'm hoping to have this changed by next week.

So, with that in mind, £400ono? Talk to me, I want to see her go to someone who'll look after her rather than make money. I'll update with more information as and when I think of it, and will take pictures of laquer peel, and the bits of rust mentioned.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't get any photos yesterday, work was a bit manic. I'm on the island over the weekend, but will be back on Monday. I have dropped price to reflect the points I forgot!

Thats the problem guys, this isn't the second, it's the third! I can't bear to see another car laid up and not get used, I'd prefer to see if go to someone to enjoy. Kar has always been my main priority (though I prefer driving Fake by quite a margin) and as much as I enjoy Jet, she has to be the one to go :(

Interior pics I'll grab tomorrow with the others!

305 miles.
Never missed a beat.
All home safe.
Things i overtook, slowed down and let past, then overtook again because it amused me were:

A lotus exige (or an Elise with a fancy bodykit on)
A big green bentley
An aston martin something or other
various porsches, a carera4 a boxter for deffo.
a lorry full of old telegraph poles (was hoping it would go all Final Destination 2 on me)
A 'gang' of about 8 fat accountants on Harleys
etc.

it all went very well untill i got about 3 mile from home.
i came off the A1 early to go to asda to score some ale.
completley zoned out on the surface streets and tried to take a corner at sixty something.
Cue mounting the kerb/impromptu partial offroading/brown trouser incident.

perhaps im not ready for 5 and a half hour road shifts yet?

Cheers for the car chris, really appreciate it.
Seems to be running a bit poorer than when i left the south. But that just be my exhausted mind.

1st job tomorow: take the interior out and clean EVEYTHING!
You are one Dirty Boy Christopher.
