Leaking diff on my 360

I cleaned the diff up the other day as it seemed a bit grubby and I've discovered a leak!
There is a drop of oil on the bottom of the casing on the n/s. I'm guessing this is coming from where the drive shaft enters the differential?
How difficult is this going to be to sort out?
Cheers,
Alex

Bump!
Has anyone got any experience replacing the seals on the diff?

what color of oil is leaking out there?
if its leaking at the piece between diff and gearbox then transmission fluid should leak out of it. at that place there is originally a cardboard like gasket, just like there is on the diff cover.
if you remove the diff you can easaly make a new gasket since it isn't a super complicated one but i've read somewhere on the forum that a guy was selling gaskets for gearbox/diff cover so that would be a good option too.
removing the diff is easy with use of proper tools.

Last night I've left my 360 2.0 GLE in my garage and this morning I saw some black oil drops on the floor. Looked under and that is the view, sorry pic is not very infomative, just quick shot

I didn't look very closely, but it seems that leaking is coming from left side of the diff.
Any suggestions?

mac on this forum sell's em click this link:
http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... et#p175599
also dai sell's mac's gasket kits through classicswede website:
http://www.classicswede.co.uk/
there top quality and i found it easy enough to replace and i'm no expert mechanic by any stretch of the imagination check my foto guide:
http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... &start=120
if its the diff/gearbox then i cant comment on difficulty of replacing as i havent tried but mac says quote:
"M47R to Diff gasket - still available from Volvo - pt.no.1340993 £5.90 + vat."

the side bearing housings (which the driveshafts slot through) are sealed with a rubber o-ring rather than a gasket. it does look as though it's been leaking onto the driveshaft which has sprayed this oil all over as its gone round. dont think they really leak. you could re-check the torque on the bolts on the bearing housing but can't see how they'd slacken them selves.
mac's rear cover gaskets are worth every penny and I'd say it would be worth doing if you were to do any work on the diff.
the rubber ring seals in the bearing housings are simple to replace - if you can find replacements

Given how much the gasket material, copper washer and bolt set would be if someone wanted to make their own, they are not only worth every penny but a fair number of pennies more.
Plus all the materials used are researched and are as Volvo spec'd the OEM parts, not just "this looks the right thickness".
