MK2 GLT - Scrapyard Find

Went on a scrappy trip today...
Over in the corner light metallic blue 360GLT.. in my favourite colour! Looked perfectly salvageable before they dented the roof (aftermarket tilt glass sunroof) with a car sitting on it

Not alot of rust either - not nice to see!
Anyway, I'm probably going back on Thursday and wondered if anyone would be interested in any parts off it. The car is located in Earlswood, Warwickshire.
- Apparently the alloys are still about in the yard (probably would be expensive?) Maybe centre caps for people?
- Uncracked and unchipped front foglights
- New looking backbox, B19 type
- All internal and external trim still intact, its only just come in
- Mk2 rear spoiler

I'll take a look.. front valance had rusty corners though if I remember rightly.
Fogs might be impossible with the car sitting on the ground!

Does it have the mk2 inlet box with the heater blower motor?

No idea about the mk2 inlet box, afraid I've just come back from the yard
Not a good day.. first it started raining and puddles of mud:
- Couldn't get the spoiler as they've now put a 740 Estate ontop and you cant open the boot
- The fog light mountings were rusted solid
- Alloys and centre caps have already been sold
- Only 8 wheel nuts there and 4 of them were locking ones and the key wasn't in the car anymore!
BUGGER!

I'm sure if you ask the guy nicely he will lift the estate off for you , especially as your putting money in his pocket

Is the car completely beyond saving, then? Seems a shame because that body looks fairly decent.

It wouldve been before they put a car ontop of it and dented the roof around the aftermarket sunroof. It isn't very rusty, bits in the usual places.. drivers door dented, not alot else!

is the rear spoiler actually bolted on? it might be just glued - try ripping it off if you go back, see what happens
yes please to the glt grill. if you cant get the valance off then dont worry. might be worth saving the dash, as smiths stuff is pretty rare these days..

I started ripping it off at the edges.. then it stopped, seems as though its bolted! I didn't have a socket set with me (doh!) and couldnt see the fixing points inside the rear hatch but could only open it a little distance - and the interior is full of the previous owners junk!
I'll probably go round next week, I'll have another go at the spoiler and get the grille if its still there (should be!). The front valance is rough around the corners, and the fog mountings are pretty rusty

The smiths counters look quite nice actually.. anyone need a set?! I'd imagine it'd be quite expensive for something I have no need for!

foggy would buy them off you
they might be bolted in the same way as the later spoilers, but i wouldnt have thought (thinking about it) that the spoiler is 'deep' enough for that..
rear light clusters might fetch a few bob, and its always worth grabbinb bulbs cos they're free
whats the interior like?

2nd thoughts, i think the valance may be the wrong colour
shame.. i think a mk2 valance with fogs is gonna be hard to find

I'm suprised it was bolted, its only small.. I'd taken a stanley knife to cut it off - expecting it to be glued only!
Theres been rear clusters like them listed on ebay for £4.99 with no bids a few times

The fogs alone are rare (and the same as Mk3s by the looks of things) as they have no cracks or chips atall.
Interior is tidy exept the makeshift stereo mounting (A screw through the dash!) and the seats are now damp and have cigarette stains.. you should see the ashtray!

dont worry about the interior then
if you've got a dremel/angle grinder then just cut the fogs out - with a few swift slices they'll pop right into your hands
ps. thats the colour of me dads old 340 gl 3 door - i really ilke it too. does it ahve the blue tweed seats or nicer ones cos its a glt?
