Saint Giles. MOT of Win! 20.08.09

As some of y'all are already aware, I did a tramp down to Reading in search of some extra CCs of poworz and came back with a 360 glt: http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... f=8&t=8217

Big thanks to Chris_C for meeting me to swap handshakes and swap keys for money.

Theres a badge on the back that plainly says 'CHALFONT' for some reason.
Chalfont St Giles is ryhming slang for 'piles', which amuses me, so the car is Giles all the way.
Its flakey but solid and goes like a startled rapist.
plans: hassle Foggy till he gives me a black back bumper (currently blue), clean parcel shelf, and a nice boss to fit me new deepdish steering affair.
New starter motor to go on (failed once, started fine 29 times) but might as well swap it as Chris was kind enough to suply one.

Ive bunged some MAX POWER-esque 15s on because they were cheap and shod in brand new 195/50/15y rubber.
And ive cleaned it.
Which was a marathon affair.
And it still looks filthy.

Enough talk now!
Pics!

Good stuff Ben. Not a massive fan of the MaxyP wheels, but as you say they were cheap so all is well and good.
You not got the other Wolfraces or whatever they were, think they would look good on it. 340pw

sold em on RR man.
cant remember why now. sm14

didnt want to spend a bomb on awesome wheels.
This is very much a stopgap car on the way to an absolute killer.

The hunt begins. :D

Oh i thought this was instead of the 240, so just a stop gap, with that gap still to be filled by the 240 or other?

Aye, either a very good 240 glt saloon.
Or a VERY good 360 Gl-something.

Depending what pops up.
Not going back to less than 2 litres though.

Oh that's a pity. I thought I spotted you on the DAF forums lately hunting some 750 cc of DAF 33 goodness

Yeah, a lovely lovely Daf was top of my WANT list. But I couldnt find anything near mot-able for the money i paid for the GLT. :(
I guess i'll have to wait till im old and rich before I can afford some quality vario-goodness. :D

I might well buy back that rear bumper if you do sell it mate ;) Or pay Foggy for the black one so you get a free deal or something?

The Chalfont is because that was the dealer, I've bought a car from Chalfont Volvo before I seem to remember, it is indeed in Chalfont St Giles ;)

She wasn't that dirty was she  The only car I seem to have ever cleaned well was Fake, and thats rarely

one and a half hoovers full of crud in the cabin. Mind, it was just a small dyson.
The dried on bird todds on the paint won't even jetblast off.
Gonna try soaking those spots with a sponge.

Yeah man, the business sounds sensible. Just pay foggy for his and I'll give him the blue for you.

looking nice... I have to say those wheels look rather good on that.... I need to get some new rubber for mine, so a wheel/tyre combo package would seem to be the way forwards......or sidewards hehe. Any other mods planned for it?

Need an unbent aerial? Should have a spare

Just a note dude... a 'nice' 240 GLT is gonna be between £600-1000 as they're an enthusiasts pick. Stick with the 360 GLT - it'll be better in almost every respect - handling, performance (2.0 360 similar to 2.3 GLT) and a lot cheaper! :D Unless you drive in a straight line everywhere I'd not bother with a 240, else budget £600 to get it handling
